After buying a new car, most people will apply window film to protect it. But do you know that you can’t roll down the windows within three days after the film is applied? Many new drivers are confused: why do you have to wait three days? After applying window film to your car windows, these precautions must be kept in mind.
After the window film is properly applied, you should avoid rolling down the windows within three days—in other words, do not open the windows at all. If you forcefully roll the windows up or down, the newly applied film will directly shift or curl, greatly shortening its service life and significantly reducing its heat insulation and anti-glare effects. If it rains or it’s winter, the drying period will be appropriately extended. After applying film in winter, it is recommended not to open the windows within a week, and it takes about a month for the film to dry completely front and back. When parking, the front windshield should face the sun to help it dry faster.

Most importantly, the rear windshield heating function must not be turned on within a month. Otherwise, when the film is not fully dried, thermal expansion and contraction will cause bubbles to form, which cannot be repaired. When cleaning the car windows, do not use chemical solvents to clean the window film, so as not to corrode and damage the surface of the film. After the film is just applied, do not stick heavy objects on it, such as ETC devices or navigation equipment. You can use them normally and freely once the film is fully attached.

If you find edge bubbles on the film after application, you need to rework it within 24 hours. However, there are a few things to note: if more than 24 hours have passed, the adhesive will have dried, and the film cannot be moved. You must ask an experienced technician from a professional store to handle it for you.

Many car owners fail to pay attention to the car washing method after applying film to their new cars, which causes the film to peel off, bubble, and other problems. Therefore, for a period of time after applying film to a new car, try to wipe the film surface with a soft cloth such as a wet towel when washing the car.
